TUCSON THERAPISTS

Maya Holm, LAC

Hello! My name is Maya and I use she/her pronouns.

I am a first-generation Chicana therapist living in Tucson, AZ. I am a recent graduate of Walden University, a former teacher, and a parent of one. I am a cisgender woman and a member of the LGBTQ2S+ and BIPOC communities.

Trans rights and causes are something that affects my daily life. I experienced being a support for a partner through transition and friends, and my community is filled with trans individuals from all walks of life. I think that LGBTQ2S+ folks are sacred, and support helps with parsing out what life looks like. I will never exist in a world where I don't advocate for the care and support of this community. I believe tools are important, and knowing that you have a community and resources is paramount to not just survival but thriving in your day-to-day.

I use internal family systems, somatic, humanistic, and integrative approaches in practice. I am experienced in using play therapy and video games in my therapy sessions. In my free time, I like exploring Tucson events, thrifting, live music, and taking my dogs on walks. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Jess Fioccoprile, Intern

I’m Jess Fioccoprile, a nonbinary, trans Tucsonan, and I use they/them pronouns. I’m a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at Northwestern University, and I am completing my Practicum and Internship here at the Gender Identity Center. As an intern I’m able to offer a reduced fee of $85 per session. I have availability to work with adult clients of all ages.

Counseling can help to increase self-esteem, build coping skills, and provide a safe and supportive space to navigate and explore. My focus in practicing counseling is on helping LGBTQ+ clients with issues either related to gender and sexuality, or otherwise. I recognize that the community needs a welcoming therapeutic space for any challenge or exploration in life, not necessarily related directly to our LGBTQ+ identity.
